studio shooting

Image
we went into the studio and took stills for the website and to show cast and crew, we used three point lighting to create the best environment and mood for the photos. Three point lighting is where there are three components to the lighting, there is they light which is used to create shadow on one side of the actor and camera, then we added the fill light which makes the actor completely visible with no shadow on them but on behind them and last there is the back light so it makes the shot have no shadow in it and the actor or object is completely lit.

Changes to the website based on reveiws

Image
I had to change the colour scheme, because the information we gathered off of the questionnaire said that people didn't like the colour scheme, i tis now more user friendly because people though the website was very gloomy and too dark so i brightened up the colour scheme. We are also making more content.

website design

Image
I have used the dark colour theme to fit the theme and tone of our productions. this is why i have used black grey and red.  this is based off of what the whole crew decided that would be best fit for the website of a horror movie, we found this from our research on what websites look like. The grey and red theme for the bottom half of the website will stick how the other r black and grey theme may vary.

Sound Report

Task 4- part 1

I am creating the website. I have already created the home page and the cast & crew information. the plan is to have several pages where we will display information about crew and other content, this will enable us to put more information on the website with it looking less crowded and full, therefore being more easy no the eyes.

Sound

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RfJhmfKb_s Star Trek discovery- TV The sound in this sequence is consistent with what is happening, for example if there’s an explosion the correct sound would be displayed. These sound are consistently hyper real and no detectible natural sound. This is most likely because of the content and because of the genre of the sequence. This sequence is filled with both diegetic and no diegetic sound, this is to make the ship seem bigger and the space from around them to seem bigger and more vast. As if they are in space. The music is also for the same reasons, it is also there to make the scene seem tenser and add drama to the sequence.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv65AoK0zmQ Star Trek into darkness- Movie The sound in this sequence is consistent with the events unfolding, for example when something falls the appropriate sound is portrayed as the object makes impact. Again this is an example of hyper real sounds but with this clip there’s mor

Interactive- Project Concept

People break into building There is a TV with a DVD player and 3 DVD’s The audience can choose 1, 2 or 3 1-Watch DVD no2    -Loot/ look for friend – run             –Leave friend                                                              -drag friend - fight -Stab him                                         - Fight                                         -Shoot him- Run  2- Watch DVD no3   -run                    –Leave friend                                                              -Fight- Stab him                                       - Fight                     - Shoot him- Run The game aspect of this is that the dead guy behind the m let them in the whole time; he let them watch the DVD’s. He is just looking for some one to survive him. The 3 videos are other attempts. The audience chooses if they turn into he 4 th video

We Will use social networks such as Facebook  and google+ there sites will be updated weekly i love penis from tom

Evaluation

For task one we had to create an online form that people could sign to inform us of the social media platforms that people use and for what purpose. This as was good for this purpose. For task two we had to fill in a form and research what media platforms they use and for what purpose. These tasks were created to get us to see the difference between a brand and a personal account on social media.

Will Smith Graham Norton Show

Image
Show: The Graham Norton Show Chanel:BBC One link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwS14TiO7Pk The show is located in a studio where the set consists of a sofa on a small platform with a desk a seat and a TV for the host and quests to see. then to the side of the platform there is a small stage. The colour pallet of The Graham Norton show is quite dark daily consisting of Purple and Orange, using these colours keeps the general tone of the show quite dark which then bounces off the humorous content of the show. The hair and make up for the show is done so it makes the subjects look more natural and with the lighting and on camera. The host has a high energy and happy atmosphere to make the guests feel comferatble and more likely to answer questions. The shot types are very consecutive and the show consist of wide shots of everyone on the set or plat form or then cuts to medium shot of sofa or host. the cameras are positioned evenly along the side of the set. They have th

Creating and interveiw

Image
Think about the following... -Camera placement -Eye contact -Listen -Make the subject feel comfortable -Think about location -Let them talk 180 degree rule. when framing a subject they should be in the centre of the shot because thats where the human eye prefers to look. the subject should be looking in the same direction as the interviewer and they will be placed in a neutral position.

White Balance in Video

To white balance a camera you must first use a sheet of white paper to make all the colours neutral, and if you shoot under over head lights the this will make the colour and light seem more natural. To make the shoot seem warmer or to add a warmer tone to the clip you need to white balance off of a blue piece of paper or card, this will give the camera a orange tint, this is useful when filling warm scenes in cold locations. to make a scene seem colder you must use a orange piece of card to give the camera a blue tint. this will make the scene seem colder where intact it is really warm.

Audience

An audience is any individual who consumes any media, this can include Books, Posters, TV and Movies. when making a piece of media you have to consider two things, the Demographic and the Psychographic. An audience is important because without one there would be no media. The impact of new Technology is that it is decreasing other markets for example, newspapers as social media develops the use of physical news outlets is decreasing however there is still a market for it due to the older people who prefer a more analogue way of seeing information. There are two types of audience Mass and Niche. Mass- Large audience very main stream. Niech- Small audience but very influential. There is the Demographic which is the mass audience these can be separated into classes. http://www.nrs.co.uk/nrs-print/lifestyle-and-classification-data/social-grade/ - This is a link to a website that shows the grades and where to market you production.

Photography Lighting.

We had a day where Steve showed us how to light certain areas for a specific genre for example horror lighting. There were three types of lights we used Dedos, Aris and Redheads. We used lots of individual lights in a three point set uup on the different areas, there were four areas.

Evaluation Foley

We had to create the sounds using the foley techniques for the classic Psycho scene. it went well and these music was well timed as well as fitting with the tone of the clip. I think the music worked best as it further identified the tone and genre of the clip. Next time I would try and get the shower sound to sound like it continues because it sounded like pulsing in the video however this was due to lack of editing knowledge, However on the whole the editing went ok. WWW .Timing .Tone .Editing EBI .More editing knowledge .Better sounds

An Alaysing Sounds in a Movie Scene

The scene I will be analysing is the scene for 'Star Trek Into Darkness' where the Enterprise falls helplessly towards Earth. Here is the link to the Video- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv65AoK0zmQ The sounds in the video are used well together, there are multiple over lapped sounds. The sounds for the Ship its self are well executed because it builds up tension as it sounds as if the ship is dying and struggling to stay together. The music in this scene also causes tension because as the gravity changes the music compliments and makes the audience feel more connected at the helpless of the characters. Also the dialogue is the same as it is just the crew saying what they need to do and that they are helpless.

Week Four

Image
This week of the Carousel we had to create a dress out of plastic bags and a T-Shirt design.  We had to use the processes of painting die onto a piece of fabric to be pressed in the heat press. The dress was made by putting pins through the plastic and attaching it to the other parts, this dress then had to be modelled by a yr2 fashion student.

Week 4 Task

Used Links

We were set a task to create the sounds for the famous phsyco scene. (1960, DIR Hitchhock.)  We had to create the sounds using foley, recreating sound using other objects and items. We had to use Premier Pro to edit the sounds together. Foley was a practitioner who started using sound effects for the radio, he moved to cinema in the 1920's because they figured that they don't need live sound for a motion picture. Foley used house hold items to make his sounds, things that are just around the house. An example of this technique being used is house keys scraped against piano strings to create the iconic sound of the TARDIS in 'Doctor Who' (1963, BBC)  Found content is content that I have found from another source and is not my own, examples of found content that i have used it...  - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_THyS0sRlU - music 02/10/17 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edKRSo2toT8 - Drain 02/10/17 When editing we used premier pro to string the sounds to the

Critically Comparing

Unit 1 U1.2.1 Critically compare a range of communication methods used to convey meaning in creative media production. Note Critically is similar to compare but concentrate on the things that are different with two or more methods used or what sets them apart. Point out any differences which are particularly significant. In your own words say what U1.2.1 is asking you to do. Answer: To compare different types of media 2nd. Gather your information What have you been doing that you can evaluate On your blog you now have two weeks detailing classes in The Carousel and professional ways to use tools, skills, processes.  If you have details of these you have done this point just add the links below.
